In this competition, a contestant is required to perform any dance style such as Kathak, Bharatnatyam, Kathakali, Mohiniattam, Odissi, Kuchipudi, Manipuri, Attriya, Semi classical dance style, and their variations.

This competition shall have two rounds
Round 1: Eliminator
Round 2: Finale

    FOR ELIMINATION ROUND
  • A contestant is expected to record a video of his / her performance for a minimum of 2.5 Minutes and a maximum of 3.5 Minutes.
  • Editing or adding any kind of effects, texts or animations, etc. isNOT PERMITTED. The submission has to be made in raw format only.
  • The video has to be freshly recorded and uploaded not earlier than 7 days of the commencement of the fest.
  • Upload it on a media platform such as Facebook, Google Drive, or any other data sharing website. Change the setting of the uploaded file to VISIBLE TO ALL (FACEBOOK) / ANYONE WITH THE LINK (GOOGLE DRIVE) / SHARE TO INTERNET and send the link to [email protected]
  • In the email to be sent, the subject should be: Event Name (as on the website) – Your Complete Name – Your UNI ID (as received at the time of registration on the official Website of the fest) – Your Contact Number
  • Understanding the Covid-19 scenario and advisories to avoid visiting places and sharing utilities such as clothes & costumes, there are no STRICT CRITERIA over costumes, however, it would really be appreciated in case the students have a dress available at home i.e. best suited for their performance. Any Indian costumes such as Saree, Daily use Salvaar-Kameez for girls and Kurta-Payjama for boys would be accepted. However, whether be it auditions or final performance, submission / performance for classical dance wearing western attire such as Jeans, Shirts-Trousers, etc. shall lead to immediate disqualification.
    FINALE ROUND
  • On the basis of the video submitted, about 5-7 contestants shall be selected for the SOCIAL MEDIA / LIVE ROUND.
  • In this round, Live Contributor Right shall be given to the contestants of the Social Media page on which the event shall be held.
  • The contestant shall also be allotted a particular time during which he / she has to come live and perform. The performance time shall be fixed and the complete performance has to be completed within the stipulated time.
  • 2 Minutes preparation time (i.e. for coming live, setting your camera, etc.) and a maximum of 6 Minutes performance time shall be allotted to each contestant. The minimum performance time should be at least 3 minutes.
  • Only recorded music is permitted. Performance on Live music shall not be permissible due to technical constraints, although we understand technically that semi-classical is best fitted over live music.
  • All contestants are required to note that as the event shall go live, they should choose a place where there is silence, and no disturbance from any other family members / pets, etc. during the live show. It is to be noted that in case at any point of time if the environment / any unforeseen situation is created during the live performance which does not appear suitable for our viewers, we may stop the live performance immediately.
  • The organizers reserve the right to change the way in which the finale shall be conducted later for the betterment of the fest and its execution.
  • Whatever, be the way chosen for execution of the fest, a pre-execution trial of the same shall be conducted for making the finale contestants comfortable for live performance.

    In this challenging time, where staying away from each other while still being connected is “THE NEW BEING TOGETHER”, UniversuMM 2020 has come up with this unique concept of RELAY-GROUP PERFORMANCE. For the duet events, a song or a mashup of a number of songs has to be divided into even parts of minimum 4 and maximum 8. The two partners have to be performing alternate parts. The video has to be then merged and submitted.
    Any dance form is permissible under this competition such as Indian: Semi-classical / Classical / Folk / Indo-Western; Western / Free Style: Dance forms such as Hip-Hop, Break Dance, Jazz, Jive, Tap Dance, Robot, Locking, Popping, Rock'n'roll, Ballet, Contemporary, Lindy Hop, Salsa, Mambo, Palo, Rumba, Paso Doble, Samba, Tango or Bollywood Style or Contemporary Dances or Indo-Western.

    • A team consisting of two members has to choose a song or a mashup of songs of total length not exceeding 6 minutes and no lesser than 4 minutes.
    • This selected duration of the song has to be then divided into a minimum of 4 parts and a maximum of 8 parts. The division may be equal in duration or proportional. The organizers shall not be very fussy about the duration division, however, it should be kept rational between the partners.
    • The song selection should be such that once each of the two performers performs their part and are later joint together, it should appear like a stage choreography.
    • No editing, other than joining the videos & transitional animations / effects, is permissible.
